Talking as a newbie, What do you think of this amp to drive a pair of peavey pro15s. Just starting out and money's tight. If they are a waste of money let me know as I have not bought one just YET.

I've not had any dealings with Pro Sound. Some of the other stuff I have brought in the past hasnt been that good. SO now I wait a little bit and save up and buy a more expenisve amp. I've got Peavey Pro 15's to and I drive mine with a PV1500. Maybe consider a Dare Amp, they are budget Amps too and apprently are really good amps to. I would only consider buying a Pro Sound amp as a backup. But shall wait and see what others views are as Im quite interested. Good luck and let us know what you decide to go with in the end.

Been looking through Pages on Forum and have found and Amp that would be Alot better than pro Sound and reliable and even better brought from Chris!!

Don’t touch it with a barge pole, well that’s my opinion anyway.
My son started out with a Stageline 400w, then he started to want more volume & saw the Pro Sound 1000w so he decided to get one.
We soon found out the Pro Sound has less output & didn't sound as good as the Stageline 400w, we still keep this Amp as a backup to his Behringer EP1500, but the Pro Sound is relegated to the back of the cupboard collecting dust.

Thanks for that Mr Wabbit. Strange that!! My current amp is a stageline 400 but it just doesn't do the pv,s justice. I like the look of the C-Marks from Chris but can't find too much info on them yet. Anyone help with that?

If you can hang fire for a fortnight or so, I have a batch of Amps coming in from C-Mark. I used to sell these 18 months ago, until the UK Distributor went out of business, now another company are distributing them.

I sold a lot of them, far more than any other Amps that I had in stock at the time, and heard nothing but praise for them and I never even had one returned under warranty . They are made in the Far East but under license and the design of a large manufacturer in the U.S in other words they are of American Design and Spec but just made in the Far East to keep them competitively priced. They are well designed, well built and run very cool even when pushed to the limit.

A local club uses the 1200W + 1200W version driving stacks of EV Eliminator cabs and they sound well, and no complaints or failure and it gets driven hard 3 nights a week.

These 'own brand' style Amplifiers such as Prosound are all well and good for light duty bedroom use, but if I wanted my tap fixing i'd call in a plumber, the same applies to Disco Equipment, get it from the proper outlet and not from somewhere which sells everything from remote control cars to car air fresheners. Also be sure to check out the RMS rating of the amp before you buy, and don't get fooled by the Peak or Maximum ratings.

Ive spent pounds on cheap amps like stageline and it just dont pay, they quote stupid wattage and usually if it is in rms it will be bridged at 2 ohms which is an unlikely setup.

Make sure you get the 8ohm rms wattage as you will be running two speakers.

Good "cheap" amps are warrior, i installed a 600 watt one at a bar/disco a year go and runs 4 celestion sr1 speakers fine every nite! it was £300 i think.
