Theres an album coming out in the next few weeks, oh and Christmas is only 73 days away - what a coincidence. huh.gif

The album will feature cover versions of Enrique Englasias's "Hero", and Britney Spears "Toxic".

The album is being released by Bruce Forsythe .... scared.gif

Lets hope he doesnt cover the Toxic Video... fear.gif

I think that he should have stuck to doing The Generation Game.

Urrmmm errrr....actually, I've just bought this CD. stupid.gif

Turns out its a Come Dancing CD of ballroom/strict tempo dances, Waltzes, Foxtrots, Quicksteps etc.

Around half the tracks featured are modern tunes, such as "Hero", and "Livin' La Vida Loca", with a few of the old, old (old) favourites chucked in too.

Most importantly, all the tracks have their dance type listed next to them on the track listing eg: (Waltz) (Foxtrot) (Tango).

I get probably about 10 events per annum where "some" ballroom dances are asked for, and 1 regular, repeating event where ballroom dancing is expected to be around an hour of the night. So for me, (and them) this is a welcome escape from Victor Silvestor and the Boys.

I was thinking of getting this album for those times when it may be needed, but on the TV adverts it sounded like Brucey and co were just covering the original with the exact same tune/words, just them singing instead of the original artist.

Is this the case? As if it is, will just play the original tracks...
Gary
Certainly some of the tunes on the Brucey CD are "re-arrangements" of popular tunes, eg: The melody of a tune may have been audiblely "given the lead" or otherwise highlighted so that the tune instantly becomes easier to dance to as say, A waltz...

Other tunes on there are almost identical to the originals.

Hmm - What sort of percentage??

How many tunes have been re-engineered and how many are just re-recordings?

If there are quite a few danced (S/T) up then it may be good to get.....
