We are wondering wether or not to invest in a head mic for childrens parties. We are currently using roaming mics but as we join in with many of the games and party dances and also do magic it is difficult to use. Has anyone got any suddestions?

Unless you invest in a good quality version, with a high sensitivity capsule, then headset mics are flawed by feedback, breath "pops", and just poor quality pick up - i.e thin and distant speech. Often they can be more trouble than they are worth.

Good quality versions are available from Sennheiser, Top End Trantecs, and Audio-Techncia, but the price may be a little overkill, especially if its for a kids party.

Stick to the handheld!.

Have you got any suggestions on how to hold it?

I once saw a guy doing a puppet show with a mic in a holder which was attached round his neck. but I do not know where I could get something like that from.
I don't even know what they would be called!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, but a statement like that, on here, at this time of night is asking for another "Oh Matron The screens please" style thread - especially with Spin's arrival just minutes away!.

Head Set mics are great for freedom of movement, but working with kids?

Are you a dancer?
