I am new to all this...

I am part of a Live Band and am the only one thats previously used lighting controllers (a small mobile disco).

They have recently pulled some equipment from the back of their garage and would like it reprogramming.

We plugged it all in at a receng gig and managed to get all the standard Chase Buttons working OK.

I know there is a feature to re-program it, but it is proving very difficult with any instructions.... Can anyone help?

All it say on the front is - DMX OPERATOR EC-1216

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

I'm not familiar with the controller, but it sounds like it may be a re-badged or variant of the Botex Range. They do a Botex DC-1216 which sounds similar to the one you are describing.

I am not a Botex distributor, so am unable to give you any instructions on programming. If you don't get the answer you are looking for, then try running a search on google for 'BOTEX DC-1216' since i'm pretty certain the two are similar smile.gif .

If it's identical to the one listed on the post you indicated, I can try to arrange you a PDF instruction manual to download?.

it is exactly the same... the details quoted were all i could find on the unit (didn't look on the back as it's all mounted in a box)

Any instructions would be a great help!

Here you go:-

DMX Controller Manual

The PDF contains instructions in several Languages, The English Instructions are in the 2nd section so don't be alarmed when the PDF opens and you are greated with instructions in a foreign language!.

that is spot on (it think)

I will have to have a read of it properly.

Am I right in thinking I can program one button to make the lights go daft to fast bits of music when one button is pressed and then a 2nd button for single colour spotlights that move slowly? Or is this tooo advance for this bit of kit?
