I've just been watching repeats of Room 101 on Sky and it prompted me to start this thread.

We've all got songs that we hate to play or to listen to, but what would you put in?

Forget the fact that they make people dance or sing a long, what do you play week in, week out that you'd like to get rid of?

I can think of so many but, got to start with YMCA (20 years every week) and Wake me up before you go go (I was a fan of Wham! many years ago)

Those two really get up my censored2.gif nose, how about you?

This is very similar to a topic I started ages ago! laugh.gif

'Most anoying song in the world ever' Here

So I imagine a lot of peoples 'favourite' worst tracks might already be in the topic.

Joe

P.S One track that I can't stand is 'Cartoons - Witchdoctor' wallbash.gif

"Hey witch doctor, give us the magic words"

I'll give you the censored2.gif ing magic words! 188.gif
Gary
KC & The Sunshine Band - Give it up...

Not that I play it much anyway, but its the whining synthersizer at the beginning which just makes my teeth stand on end... flex.gif

Also, Oasis, theres something about their long slow whining electric guitars which just sounds so 9.gif and their egotistical attitude just makes me cringe.

Prodigy...any track - the images of the lead shouter/singer just make me wanna turn it off or move to another room.

Smiths/Morrisey... If he couldnt find words to reach to the end of the bar, he should have tried harder, not draw out the la la la la la last few wor wor wor wor words non-stop until the ne ne ne ne next breath...

Sorry Joe, I've only been here for a month!

But I suspect as you're still a youngster, there's nothing that really really gets your goat! (as I mentioned, 20 years and the same song, grrrrrr....)

I could be wrong though and I'm sure you'll let me know!

Having said that Joe, your post was just about the most annoying track, mine is about consigning it to Room 101, where it can never come out of!

And yours was Kylie, Can't get you out of my head?, I love that tune. (And the video)

I'm the same age as her, so I can always dream........... love.gif

I thought it was what song you seem to have to play every week you want to send to room 101 , not the worst songs ever ? smile.gif

Joe do you play Witchdoctor every week ?? fear.gif smile.gif

20 Years hmmmm how bout Shang A lang ?

Just the song you wish to get rid of to Room 101, whether it is your most annoying, most played track or you just hate it.

The choice is yours!

And Shang-a-lang? from 1974 - I've never played it.

Must have a listen.........................!

Bye bye baby, now that's another matter!

By the way Joe (In my most patronising voice!)

Have you heard of the Bay City Rollers? biggrin.gif

Nooooo! Me thinks I misread part of the question! lol rolleyes.gif

I understand now! biggrin.gif oops.gif

Erm.... Mines still probably Kylie Minogue - Can't Get Me Out Of Your Bed, I mean head.

Don't get me wrong, Its a good track and most definately a classic, but the 'Nah Nah Nah, Nah Nah Nah Nah Nah, Nah Nah Nah's eventually get a bit monotonous after a while wallbash.gif laugh.gif

That was the line that got me smile.gif

Ok Another Proclaimers 500 Miles , always have to play it as they are Local Lads, It did die down for a while but now all the youngsters are asking for that song again! Revived no doubt by the Song "I'm On My Way" smile.gif

Not local here in Southern England, but I have to say people are loving it (still), especially the blokes!

I'm obviously a bit slow catching on as I've only be playing it a lot over the last 3 months and possibly because I haven't played it for a while, but, WHAT A GREAT SONG!!

WHEN I WAKE UP................

Ooooh, post 100, I think I'd better lie down! wacko.gif

To quote the Blues Brothers:

Both types of music, country AND western

Personally, I am convinced it is the music of the devil! patriot.gif 221.gif scared.gif
Kingy
It has to be the Country & western for me too!

Never wanted to dress as a cowboy/girl, not even as a 5 year old. Sorry, they all get my goat! As do the people who set themselves up for ridicule by dressing as Indians and living in a bloody Tee Pee whenever they get the chance!! 9.gif

Once did the PA for a festival where at the end of the two day event all these ENGLISH ADULTS dressed as cowboys/girls stood to attention and saluted the American Flag being taken down whilst some chap who looked like Mick Hucknall pretended (very badly) to be Elvis and sang American Trilogy. How I prayed for a POWER FAILURE.

I am ready for you C&W fans to shoot those arrows!

I agree 100% with your selection of Oasis/Prodigy/Smiths/Morrisey.
Just watching the lead singer of the Smiths on TV made my hair stand on end, although I must admit to liking The last of the gang to die by Morrisey
C.S
I love the Prodigy too . Due to overkill by my parents i would get rid of the beatles and pink floyd. fear.gif
Chrispy
What would I get rid of for ever?.....

Every manufactured Boy and Girl band ever to pollute my ear drums. These five minute wonders pop up like a demented toaster, with their cardboard voices, repetitive beats and cheesy lyrics, then disappear / split up again a year or so later to a media frenzy.

Just because the Girlie Groups have big T:cense:TS doesn't make them a good singer.....I mean, Dolly Parton proved that ages ago!!! smile.gif .

And who would I lock away in Room 101?? - Pete Waterman!!, that git started the entire manufactured pop scene.

Paul Smith
I put in the Spice Girls and their solo efforts thumbdown.gif
