P.S

More terrible mixes on their way! laugh.gif

Edit:

Ok, here are a few more mixes that I have done biggrin.gif

Ok, we have 'Fountains Of Wayne - Stacy's Mom vs. Vengaboys - The Vengabeat' (Basically I have 'danced it up' by adding a dance beat to it) Click Here to Download

....We have: 'S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin' vs. Michael Jackson - Billie Jean' (Again, this is a mix I have heard before and tried my hand at replicating it smile.gif ) Click Here to Download

... Last, but not least, we have 'The Stranglers - All Day And All Of The Night vs. Vengaboys - The Vengabeat' (This is an 80s track (I think) 'danced up' tongue.gif with the same dance beat that I used with 'Stacys Mom') Click Here to Download

Havent had a listen to it yet as am at work at the mo and no soundcard, but wasnt there a mix of this anyway?

It was played to death on a local radio station to (Vibe FM) of Without Me vs Horny?

Will listen later and let you know if they are similar.....

Yeah I think there has been a mix of this out, I heard another DJ mixing these tracks a while back and thought it sounded cool, so i had a go at doing it myself 533.gif

...So I didnt 'invent' it, just tried my hand at mixing it myself. smile.gif

I'm experimenting with different tracks at the moment. Hopefully I'll record a decent original mix soon smile.gif

The trouble is, all the well known tracks that mix well together have already been discovered and done. sad.gif

I guess I'll have to mix something well known with something people have never heard of! 533.gif

Fair play joe! Well done. Keep it up mate.

Yeah, nice first attempt thumbup.gif .

Would be nice to hear a few efforts from other DJ's who mix and post here tongue.gif .

Always Upload your sample mix at a low quality, ideally <64 kbs to make it less attractive for commercial use or resale.

You can use http://www.yousendit.com to upload your files and share them. Simply upload the file to their server, enter your own email address (recommend hotmail or a free account) in the 'recipient' box, and then post the link here for people to download smile.gif .You may like to zip your file using winzip or Winrar before you upload it.

The Moog
Joe.... nice effort cool.gif

I do a lot of this stuff myself but won't go to any great lengths to expand on this point due to the (ahem!) legal aspects of the matter.

Constructive criticism if I may offer it (Concentrating on the MooseT/Horny effort).

Good instantly recognisable intro that grabs the listeners attention from the off... always a must in a commercial mash. However from there there is little variation and while the two tracks avoid all but the most subtle of key clashes... there's nothing much to hold the attention after the first eight bars. Try dropping the loop for 4 to 16 bars midway through to give a variation to the flow of the remix. Splice up the vocals every so often to give an alternative take on that aspect of things. Try dropping some quick familiar samples from other songs in there to add to the interest.

I don't know what software you use for this but have you explored all the effects? Sometimes phasing the vocals can have the most rewarding results. Be adventurous and try everything is the best advice I could give. (Oh and try avoid Eminem.... he's sooooooo passé in the bootleg remix world laugh.gif )

Your efforts are a lot better than my first ones were, by a mile. Keep it up mate thumbup.gif

Hey,

Thankyou ever so much for the constructive criticism, its just what I was looking for thumbup.gif

As you might have guessed, I've only recently started trying to record some mixes so I'm not very good yet. laugh.gif smile.gif
