So how often do you recieve an extra monetary tip from your client in addition to your agreed fee?.

I've had a few small tips
.The largest amount I got was £75 for a 12year old party. The girls father was so drunk that he gave me all the money he had in his pocket.

I get offers of drinks all the time if this counts - ive been tipped cash a few times funnily enough at a gig for the Inland Revenue you've got to hand it to them !

Just last week a guy slapped a tenner in front of me after I played his request.

He walked off before I got chance to say thankyou!
I've had drinks bought for me, happens a couple of times a month usually

Ive had some very nice tips over the years.. but I think that tipping is getting less and less.. .. Before I rounded up my fees.. I used to charge ending with £5.... so what normally happened was that the client never had a £5 not to make the 245... to I would nearly always end up with the extra £5!

For those who can remember 10 years ago, tips were much more frequent then, now lucky to see 3 a year.

Well for me it's somewhere between "a couple of times a year" & "once a week". Around once every few weeks, usually cash but sometimes a bottle of Champagne or wine.

I did a 13th gig a week or two ago. Typical night, they wanted to run riot anywhere but in the room where the party was so mum was getting quite heated. I pulled out the now infamous lightsticks and gave each kid a couple free of charge.
Suddenly, the kids wanted to be in the darkest room in the building (the party room), and they all looked cool when dancing.
The sticks cost 5p each, I dished out about 40. She gave me a tenner tip and booked me for her other daughters 12th in September!
What I like just as much as a tip is a round of applause at the end of the night.

A couple of times a year but agree with the offer of a drink is as good as a tip (which I always decline!). My quotes for gigs nearly always end in a five which is generally rounded up when being paid. However much the tip, even a fiver is nice. Not only are the customer paying for your services they go out of their way to tip you....you know they have enjoyed the function

I don't think anybody is ready for another Group Buy on these just yet.
Email:- dju@glsproducts.com stating that you are a member of DJU, and he *may* be willing to give you a discount on your purchase, depending on the quantity you are buying.
We will hold another group buy on these, perhaps in time for Xmas

I've only had one cash tip in eleven years! However I have always been invited to have food and drink and on a long gig it is really welcomed.
The best tip I got was a piece of birthday cake from a 10 year old, she was so pleased with all the games I did!
It is these moments that make it all so worthwhile!

I do a lot of children's partys and get £10 -£20 tips quite often. Biggest tip was £50 at a 70th birthday last month.
