How disappointed was I that this wasnt a cover version of Racey's original hit from the 70's.... Well, not very, but the video was nice to imagine.
I've been looking for tracks to mix into this track, so far I've come up with a couple of usable tracks, and a couple of terrible "WHY? WHY? WHY?" type tracks...
So...these mix in ok with Miss Stevens...
Diana Ross (or Steps): Chain Reaction
The Glitter Band/Gary Glitter : Rock'n'roll part 2
(and of course if Rock'n'Roll part 2 will mix with it...so will)
The Timelords: Doctorin' the TARDIS.
Also...
The Rah Band: Crunch...
Any other good mixes for this track?

Its a good catchy choon, but wouldnt know what to mix it into next as at most Disco's I dont beatmix. So I would probably keep the pop music going and put Girls Aloud - The Show on afterwards.

This tune is not as catchy as her last so I'm looking forward to her next one which will be a cover of Andrea True Connections' More More More.

What is the technical term for songs like this Chain Reaction, When tthe Going Gets Tough, Spirit in the Sky etc which have that rhythm.
I can only desscribe them as "horizontal" songs but no-one, including me, really knows what I mean.
So what is the official name for that beat?

What chart is that then Steve?
They're using the new Rachel Stevens song on Sky Sports to advertise more Premiership football this season, I don't think it's out yet as a single.
I seem to remember there's an album of cover versions of old disco classics done by 'contemporary' artists - it could be on there.

With all due respect Eskie its just that sort of response that really annoys some people.
I respect you as a very good dj but the sort of tracks that you call crap whether you like them or not are the very tracks that keep some of us in work.I wouldnt dream of criticising some the tracks that you play-if it works for you.Great.
Sorry rant over

Thanks for putting this miserable old git right lads but I must say I prefer CS's explanation of my misreading of the situation.
Just a little too much sarcasm Eskie even with the "emoticons"

OK apologies Trev, we've obviously got a very different sense of humour. The 2nd post was ALSO meant as a joke.
Most of the DJ's I know are pretty sarcastic, plus most DJ's I know I are always taking the mickey out of each other, so therefore I just naturally adopt that attitude when I'm chatting with other DJ's

no harm meant

Hi
Ok, here I am with my drummer's head on now...
songs like Some girls, Love really hurts, doctoring the tardis etc fall into a 12/3 time signature, this basically means you can hear 12 high hat symbol beets to every bar, that's 3 high hats to every 1 kick drum beet. It's also known as a swing beet.
Clear enough?
