The affid is usually relating to someone making some money in commision on every purchase they refer to CD Wow.

I know you are getting your discount but someone else is also getting some commission .... maybe huh.gif

The info was passed to me by a third party, so I don't doubt it.

I have no objections to people making a few quid from affiliate links, as long as it's with a reputable company. Often the only reason that you'll get a discount is by somebody spending over X amount of pounds or joining a subscription and being given the opportunity of passing on savings to friends in return for a percentage of the spend.

If i'm saving money, I don't begrudge somebody else making some in return.

I think you'll find its called business, making money the easy way is always the best way in my books.

mmmm Yeah I know what business is but I was thinking alone the lines of.....

This forum is not "self funding" therefore if someone else has set up an affiliate link then why don't you do the same and use the money to support the forum biggrin.gif

If anyone spends anywhere near as much at CD-WOW as I do then theres quite a bit of money in it and hosting this forum can't be all that cheap!

I could, but it would take a forum with around 30,000 members and 200+ members online at any one time to make any money. Given that only a handful of people take an interest in these offers and that affiliation is all well and good if you are running a Warez Forum or a very high traffic site, but I seriously doubt that this link will be making anybody rich, at least not from this forum.

It certainly isn't MY affiliation link, if that is what people are trying to hint at. This has come from one of several non DJ related forums which I am also a member off. I just thought it is good to share these findings so we all benefit. If it does earn 5p for somebody else then good luck to them.

The forum is partly funded by the small additional amount of business which it brings from Sound and Lighting sales, and yes i've spent well over £1000 on various aspects of it since last year. If I paid myself a wage for the hours I spend here every week then it would make huge losses!. However I just see it as an expensive hobby, rather then a money making venture.

I don't intend to have banners littering the site, (The single one below is an exchange system and isn't "paid"), affiliations or pop up's, but then again neither do I expect to be able to retire at 40 from it smile.gif, unless Richard Branson wants to make me an offer for the forum 363.gif

Fair enough, just thought it might be worth considering!
