Okay so you have played 1 0r 2 or maybe even 3 or 4 slowies for the first dance at the start of a Weddings.

Now my question is what would you follow up the slowies with?? IE how to get them going?? But Not seeming like to have just killed the nice romantic mood. Also what would be your usual banter to kick the party off after the dances??

Lets here your suggestions then.....

This works for me everytime...

1st dance
2nd slow dance
Geroge Mcray - Rock your baby
Four seasons - dec63 oooooh what a night
beegees - you should be dancing
gloria gaynor - i will survive
candi staton - young hearts run free
chaka khan - i'm a hairy / heavy / every woman

After the slow tunes i like to move into some 70's or anything you can boogie too, keeps the older ones on the floor and also gets the toes tapping on the young audience.

Nothing to fast yet and dont play half your party set till later smile.gif

But as with any fuction your playing to there needs not what you planed before you started!
SteadFast
"Compliments On Your Kiss" then "Mambo No 5" usually keep the floor fullish for me after the first couple of slowies.

I like to do 2 slow songs depending on the Bride & Groom's wishes then I would Normallyl follow the slow songs with "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang, Its not to slow for them to dance or too fast but just right to get the party started. smile.gif
YourBigEvent
Normally Louise - Stuck in the middle, or similar

A couple of slows then into the real thing you to me are everything then try sticking to the 70s for half an hour or so then bring up to date b4 going right back to the 60s & partying
