I have today received several complaints from DJU members who believe that they have been targeted by other members who are emailing unsolicited emails, to some addresses alleged to have been harvested through membership here at DJU.

I will again, warn, anybody who is here, to simply hang on to our shirt tails for traffic, that I do enforce a strict no spam policy and report any abuse. Complaints are not just levied at Spam@ type abuse emails, but where the spam has originated in the UK, recorded delivery letters are sent to UK ISP's and their backbone providers, site domain registraints, and web hosting providers. If anybody thinks they are here just to take advantage of our membership and free commerical advertising, had better leave now.

I have now been forwarded headers from members who have made a complaint, and will be looking at possible abuse complaints if a link is established.

Spammers are the scourge of the internet, at any level, as are freeloaders who think that they can cash in on the efforts of other webmasters. I don't use YOUR site to spam DJU, so have the decency not to do the same on this site!. If in Doubt, it's always polite to ASK first 188.gif , and a posted partner link, opt in mailshoot or banner is often more effective and better recieved by the recipient, than a spam attack!.
