Hi,
I have had several *SPAM* emails warning me about a "new virus" , one of these appears to have come from a forum member!. The emails starts off:-
| QUOTE |
Hello people, this is an important e-mail so please read very carefully ... I had this sent to me by a friend who was concerned that he may inadvertently have sent me a virus, so I have checked my computer and found that I had it. Please follow the instructions given below, and it will delete it. It is really simple to do. Sorry for the inconvenience. HOW TO ERASE VIRUS: - This virus automatically sends itself to all people in one's address book (irrespective of whether or not you have sent any e-mails). It lives quietly for 14 days and then damages your system. 1. Go to START, Find or search option 2. In the file/folder option, type the name jdbgmgr.exe 3. Be sure you search your C: drive and all sub-folders/drives you have 4. Click 'Find Now' or 'Search' 5. The virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe |
PLEASE NOTE THIS EMAIL IS A HOAX AND THE FILE IT TELLS YOU TO DELETE IS PART OF THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM!!!
Deleting the file mentioned will only corrupt your Windows Operating System.
This Email Hoax is well known and can be confirmed by visiting the link below:-

If you receive this email then DO NOT follow the instructions.

Don't you really hate that when they do that? Also, if anyone sends a patch for a new virus, don't download it unless its directly from the official website!

This one has been doing the rounds for a year or two, also know as teddy bear, due to the file's icon. It doesn't hurt windows if you do delete it, I believe it's a file use when working in / creating VB, and I don't think many of us do that, well perhaps 3G does.

Im still convinced that virus's are regularly written by the same companies that right the Anti-virus software.
It's a bit like the lads from the local Kwik-fit, going around at night kicking your cars exhaust off.

Don't you just hate that? When you have to drive home from a gig at 2am and the exhaust fell off and you don't want to get pulled!!
(Actually in my case it was one of these lay flat posts that the caretaker assured me was low enough) !!!
