I have just bought a Maverick DMX scanner with a 200discharge lamp. Its quite well built, but I've not heard of these before and can find nothing on them internetwise.
At the moment, it just runs through a series of movements...all dipswitches are off. I have no DMX controller, what are the function dips for? AM I right in assuming I can switch to sound to light mode if I put one of these dips on?

It would be worthwhile opening up the unit to see if there are any "give away" clues as to the manfacturer of the unit. Sometimes the printed circuit board, or EPROM chip will have some sort of copyright/build info, even if the unit is re~badged Eg: Designed by brand X, Built by brand X, but has brand Ys name and logo painted on the side.
