Most of us know that playing Wham tends to fill the floor. I always [ALWAYS] play "Wake me up before you go-go" but I much prefer "Edge of Heaven", although I've never chanced playing it.

Anyone given it a go at a family do? Did it go down well? Any other Wham tracks go down well (Young Guns, Club Tropicana)?

Whilst I'm on the subject of 80s - have you seen that advert for Pymms where they all end up doing the "Prince Charming"? Hilarious!!

'I'm your man' often goes down well, and it has a good intro which is very easy to mix.

Hi

I've stumbled across three tracks that really mix well together with a bit a tempo altering.

1. Girls Allowd, Jump

After the last chorus when it does that bouncy bouncy kinda fade out go into

2. Wham, I'm your man (just let girls Allowd fade out naturally)

After the sax solo where George does his whispering talky bit, go into

3. Earth Wind and Fire, September - 2000 Remix

Works really well and is now a regular feature when I'm asked to do 80's sessions.

I'm fed up of playing Wake me up all the time so whack in Bad Boys every now and then.

All 3 are good choices, there is a Mastermix "Wham's greatest Mix" from a few years ago, that also works well! biggrin.gif

I'm your man if Wake me up is not required.

Did you know that Andrew Rigdley pinned a note on George Michaels door one morning say 'Wake me up before you go' and that is how they got the title of the song. It is also the only note Andrew Rigdley ever contributed to Wham !!!!

Ouch!! But very true!!!

I also go for I'm Your Man -Specially coz it was covered recently so the little 'uns know it too...

And Darren, try it the other way - I always do I'm Your Man, Jump followed by It's Raining Men (as you can play this for 30 odd seconds as it does it's build up over the fading Jump (Thanks Gary tongue.gif )), followed by Mama Mia......

"Wake me up before you go go" ALLWAYS works well when I play it. Ocassionaly play Freedom a little later on in the evening

Im your man and edge of heaven..... nearly always play these.... often slip in club tropicana too and wham rap! Theres no harm in "chancing" a tune.... if it suddenly kills the floor... kill the tune!

I played that Shane Ritchie for the first time on Friday when a fellow DJ came with me and said it would go down well, played it again last night as he was with me again, probably never play it again now tongue.gif

Mastermix Issue 215 has a great Wham! mix. Slap it on, watch the floor fill, and nip off to the bar thumbup.gif

Let's not forget Wham rap and Young guns!

Played for the right age group (thirty somethings), they always go down a storm.

I have to agree though, the biggest Wham! tune for me in terms of floor filling is Wake me up........ and god do I hate it? mad.gif

Mmmmm......, every week for 20 years - must change my playlist!

And the worse one?

Bad boys, without doubt!
