Hi guys

I have recently purchased 2 PSL Raptus (or Rapti, plural, I don't know).

An excellant lighting effect, but each has 1 cracked mirror.

The store I purchased them from cannot supply the mirrors, nor can the orignal importers.

Although the crack in the mirrors doesn't effect the overall effect of the light, I think it looks bad when setting up, taking down.

Can anyone help or advise?

Thanks

Never heard of them.

If these were sold within the UK, then the manufacturer has the Obligation to provide you with spares for upto 5 years after the product has been discontinued or withdrawn.

This is frequently becoming a problem with imported effects which are only sold by one sole outlet, or a handful of distributors. It good be a nice cheap effect, but when something goes wrong, there are no spares, back up or aftersales service available excl.gif

Damage to mirrors is obviously not covered by warranty, but there really is no reason why the store where you purchased it could not order one in for you - although it CAN take a few weeks or months! especially if they are of Chinese or Far East origin.

The only other way is to look around and see if any other popular scanners which have a similar sized mirror. Then simply buy a replacement(s) from the manufacturer and fit it to your own Rapti

That reminds me.

I ordered some mirrors for a couple of effects over 8 months ago, and still not had them.

Hope this make you feel better huh.gif

Rapti, or in the singular, Raptus, are not cheap lights by a long shot. I too have a pair like Dale (my ickle bro), retail new '£249 each. They are Italian or Spanish in origin. PSL are a big concern over there, but only a few of their units were imported.

Everything else is available, just not the mirrors. I imagine that some other ones will fit Dale.

Now go and get that mother's day card!!! tongue.gif

Sorry, I still class £249 each as "budget" even if it may be better end of this classification. smile.gif

Mid-Range could be the HMI range of NJD / Abstract / Former Mad Lighting range with £350 - £450 price Tags. and Top End are usually 575W or 1200W Metal halide types costing around the price of a small family hatchback. smile.gif

Chris, with lighting starting at £49, surely £249 cant be considered by many to be budget stuff???? sad.gif

I know that when I was selling gear for a living that the majority of my customers were buying Twisters,Soundlab stuff, Pro-lite and Chaos etc and those were what I refered to as budget. 533.gif

Ive got one of these and they are pretty good, they nicely fill a room and **** all over any njd effect that costs around the same price
