Hi Guys,
I just got a dual laser from a friend of mine (Its a Dual Red One) and it says it is a class 3B. Is the legal to use at a venue? Where is the best place to angle it?
Anyone out there who uses one that can offer advice??
Thanks
Gav

Class 3B means that it is incabable of cutting or burning, and at 2x 10mw it doesn't need a licence for use in the UK.
However, with any laser there is a risk (abeit a very small risk) of eye damage from direct eye contact with the laser beam.
All lasers should be used and aimed well above head height, and the beam must be pointed at a wall / ceiling above the head height of your audience. I suggest mounting it on a tripod stand 3 or 4M above floor level
Care must also be made, to avoid reflection from mirrored surfaces.
Sounds a lot to take in, but I use the Green ones all the time without any problem or risk, just use common sense as to where you point them.

It's okay providing you keep it away from your main lighting rig. Being pointed at the ceiling and away from the audience means that a lot of 250W lighting effects will hide it. With a red laser smoke is a must otherwise you may as well not have the laser with you.
If you keep it away from your main lighting rig, and use smoke it should be okay.

I recently ordered the cosmic shuttle laser and received it very next day. Service was great. I had seen the cosmic laser in a local dj shop however the effects on that one appeared to be better than the one i bought. The tunnel effect was much more stable and defined and a few of the other effects were not as good on the shuttle. The unit i bought is good but for an extra few quid it may have been worth considering the other unit.
That said the service and price from Chris was first class.

Hiya, Glad you got it working after you'd figured out the interlock
You could also have considered the 30MW Apollo laser - which equates to almost twice the output of any 20mw laser (details on the site) and the good news - it costs less than £30 more than the Cosmic Shuttle from us - but has a Retail price of £599.

Thanks for the ref.
all the best
