Hi everyone,
a few months ago I bought one of these [EDITED] I have found that the effect it gives off is great, but I was wondering if you can buy more powerfull versions of them.
Becuase in 2 weeks time Im doing a show and I have tried positioning this light against the large white back wall and it gives a great effect how ever it is practically invisible once the other lighting is turned on with it.

many thanks
Gary
Phew! You were lucky...

The bad news is...your link to the ripple light didnt work.

The good news is...the name of the other supplier, which your link pointed to, was automatically removed by "the system"...saving you from a temporary "wrath of Mod"

Anyway...I suspect the light that you're referring to is an effect which two or three companies make.

I believe Chris has one of the brighter brands (real bulb, not LEDs) on special offer this month.

I was going to order that one from Chris on his special offers but i was to slow , sold out ! ,

Are you getting the new DMX ones in Chris?
Gary
I was after the DMX version too, even though theres a rumour which says that the DMX control is only "Ripple speed", and which colour to STOP at.... that sounds as though you cant jump straight to a particular colour, only STOP at one as it "comes around".

Either way...I want a DMX one. Excellent ambient effect...Ideal for colour-washing over walls, trophy tables, wedding present tables, dance floors (watching kids try to "jump in"), and of course, for making your own "Stargate" effect on your bedroom wall (with no chance of Samantha Carter walking through it though.. sad.gif

Sorry Bill. I only had a few in stock if I had have known I would have saved one for you.

With regard to the new version - I will as soon as I can get my hands on stock, they are selling them faster than they are importing them 533.gif .

This is another reason why it is not advisable to buy any effect using LED's. LED Technology is in its infancy and these effects are really just a gimmick. LED technology cannot currently compete with powerful halogen light however well its sold rolleyes.gif , and how long the leds last when compared to conventional lamps is immaterial when you can't see the effect!.

sorry, I get condused wot I can post in each forum as Im a member of many.
No that light isnt the one I have.
The one I have has a 100w lamp shining through a disk which has black swirls on to create the ripple effect this is then projected through a triangular piece of coloured glass (this glass changes colour depending on wot light it is in)
This glass is screwed to the front of the light casing,
sorry not to good at describing things hence the link, and I dont even know who manufactures it as it doesnt say
