Hi Guys,

Just thought I would see if anyone has experienced what I did on Saturday night!

Booked for a wedding, gorgeous venue and perfect set up. B & G gave me a playlist as long as my arm but 95% of it was really good.

So i'm set up ready for a great night. Does the cutting of the cake and then straight into the first dance which was You're my best friend by Queen.

Afetr that straight to the playlist and then nothing!! Not a single person moved and I mean all night until 12:40am, when 4 young girls, early twenties I would say and very attractive came up to me for a request. Great I thought, lets at least get a party out of it.

They requested Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights...... What???? It's meant to be a party, low and behold dance floor full.

I had spent 5 hours flogging a dead horse and then that happens.

Anybody else had the pleasure of making themselves look like an idiot for that to happen?

Anyway enough rammbling on.

Yup. Been there done that too many times for my liking and i took it personally. I beat myself up over it but after hearing other stories and posting my playlists for review i quickly recovered and moved on.

I got a play list only gig coming up this weekend all to be played in a particular order etc so its glorified PA hire for me i guess lol. They pays the money they calls the tune Pun intended BTW.

Dave you are right tho, I take it personally also and I know it isnt me but still you can't help but feel like that.

Nevermind, I've got a 21st this Friday and it's all Alternative music so I may be back on here Saturday moaning again!!

I also tend to take it personally. Its no fun when youre going through youre entire "never fail" tracks and no joy!. Have to say though, being asked for Kate Bush is a weird one!. And up they get!. Dont you love it!!.
I also have a mainly playlist only wedding this weekend at a lovely venue. With strict orders what not to play!. He who pays the piper and all that.......!
