Just thought id post some pics and vids of our new system I have just setup see what people think! It consists of 4x martin mac250+ moving heads 4x pro spot 150 moving heads 2x abstract vrx scanners
I'd personally have thought that scanners alone are not enough (lighting wise) in a club. Probably me, but it looked pretty dark for the duration of that vid, and although the track / atmosphere / programming was 'desired', I too would be standing still, probably for fear of bumping into someone....thank goodness for glow sticks.
On a constructive point, I guess there will be plans for further lighting other than the spot scanners.
Great.

Look's okay. Though I think Martin are way over-priced. How can someone justify spending over £1.5K on one Martin moving head 250W discharge? I can get a very very similar looking 250W discharge based moving head for around £500 shipped. You're paying for the name really. Why do people go for Martin? Why not some of the less expensive brands that sell quality gear that will last year's if looked after properly?

Can't really judge the lighting unless you're there in person, though I like the old school music set!
So that's how the buttons on cd players get broken so often...DJs hitting them...

WARNING people who suffer epilepsy do not watch the video or go to this club lol.
I agree with Dan, you need some ambient light to fill the black holes a little and maybe a little colour to the room.

This is a local venue we configured and programmed the lighting for a few years back, sorry about the music, the DJ they had was poor.
Yes. Not freestyler actually running the systems, just used to program the OXO lighting controllers. No laptop needed, just a DJ-friendly controller. The Martin will work as well.
