I was browsing the new release section of Music On Demand on Virgin TV and came across The Vengaboys - Rocket to Uranus. Has anyone else seen this video? Man, this has to be the campest, innuendo filled video since Carry On up your Khyber. The premise is that the Vengaboys are travelling in a 'Rocket to Uranus'. Their rocket is a carefully designed phallic symbol with a long pink body and two pink spherical 'boosters' strategically positioned at the bottom. Then you have the baddies spaceship which is in the shape of a fist trying to ram into Uranus (and is helpfully called the Fisto 3000), piloted by Pete Burns, or an uncannily looking double, with helpful speech bubbles like "Look! Vengaboys on Uranus" and "I want them, Dead or Alive" (Geddit) and "I will destroy Uranus". Then after the Pete Burns look-a-like baddie's head explodes, helpfully in time with the music, the camp spaceman then takes off his helmet (ooh erh missus) and says.................."Look. I can see it. We're almost there. Uranus is so pretty, it feels like home." Also for some strange reason, all the Uranians (???) don't wear clothes, they are all dressed in balloons


If you get a chance to watch it you should, because it will just put that little smile on your face and give you a wee giggle inside.

I've always had a soft spot for the Vengaboys, and I love this song. A few of us have already debated this on Facebook after I started heavily promoting it. I defy anyone to listen to it a few times and not find themselves singing "Let's have a party on Uranus" a few days later.
