Many use;
http://www.tunechecker.com

Basically, a price comparison site for MP3s.
I don't worry for the odd few, but when I need to get a lot of music in, it has saved quite a bit of money..

320kbps MP3 will sound ok, just don't re-rip to MP3 from the Audio CD.

Another vote for tunechecker here (if I have to pay).

If I've got amazon vouchers kicking about that need using up, then I use Amazon, which are VBR about 256k - They sound OK to me. Although I prefer 320k CBR's.

www.Mobiledjdownloads.com for me as you get the choice of 320 cbr mp3 or raw wav (no loss of quality) files, either tracks are 99p each and completely legal for the dj market.

I've not used that site, but prices are pretty good when comparing against some tracks - if you consider they can be in WAV format.

Its a shame more hardware (other than PCs) won't work with FLAC or even OGG Vobis, as WAV is top quality, but just takes ages to download and loads of space...

+1 terrific service and quality tracks. Tried the WAV downloads once but the files were up to 50mb sad.gif , 320 bit mP3's do the job fine IMO

You could always download the WAV, then encode as an MP3 320k CBR, and then store the wav somewhere else...

Although if you buy the wav, I'm surprised you just can't go and download both bitrates, after all you've paid for the top quality one anyway...

WAVs also are a bit more bandwidth heavy on your system too. an mp3 can be more-easily cached in memory and played from ram avoiding HDD latency and all that...

Another site to add to the bookmarks..!

Cheers,

David
