Anybody looking for some good quality powered cabs clicky

I know it may be unusual to call 999 pounds a bargain but they are some quality speakers, been mulling over investing in new speakers myself and this has really caught my attention.

Fantastic deal if they are in stock. Yoou won't go wrong.

RCF have ceased production of the 3 series and now have the 4 series.

Only downside is that the 325's were a little on the heavy side, but at £999 move quickly to buy them!!

Thats a very good price for the RCF's and if you are in the market for a new rig then they would be a good buy. however they are a heavy cab, just short of 4 stone.

Like Norfolk said the 3 series are getting quite rare and it will be a while before the 4 series comes out. The 412's will be £1200+

Typically all the retailers still list stuff on their sites but have non in stock. they tempt you throught the door to sell you something else.

Thanks guys, got this offer by email yesterday (I'm on htfr's mailing list), looks like a clearance sale or something so i would guess they are in stock, they'd hardly be sending the offer out by email otherwise, and yes they are 23kg but the way I'm looking at it is that I won't need a sub for 99% of my gigs with a set of these. However I have requested a best price on QSC K12's from a few suppliers in ireland and am waiting for them to come back to me, I had my heart set on the K12's but not sure what to do now sad.gif

I've tested both of these.

Personally for the cash I would head for the RCF's 325A's. You would have 15 inch high quality drivers in these and for £999 they are £500 quid cheaper than the K12's. As 23kg they are only 4kg heavier than the K12's and imo the RCF are better made for life on the road. ie I think the K12 grill is a bit vulnerable. The K12 also has only 1 lifting handle which is a pain. The K12 uses a 12 inch driver so the RCF will have more bottom end. The covers for both speakers are not cheap, but the K12'as are more money.

The K12's are smaller, so you do have space and they do sound fab but they are £1,500.

The RCF's retain their value well. Recently a couple of second hand pairs went on ebay for £1,000

I think it unlikely that you would need subs with the RCF 725a unless you were playing in excess of 200 people.

I picked up my k12s for 1500 euro in dublin and covers were about 35euro each from procovers.
There is a deep setting on them for extra bass and I had to tun it off last night in a decent size room
playing to 150 people as it was too bassy! I would advise a trip to reasound in tyrone where you can listen to both

Cheers Ian, can get the K12's for about 1200 euro because I can get the VAT removed, I can't do this if I import from the UK so considering I only have a car I will probably go with the QSC speakers purely for space reasons, would love the RCF's and it's a great deal but the K12's would be more practical for my situation, good to know they have plenty of bass because that is something that would worry me, I have put my JBL eons up for sale on the net and to my surprise I have had alot of interest, looks like I will be able to get 700-800 euro for them so it won't be too costly to upgrade. Will almost be finished upgrading my gear then thankfully and can start to make profit again kid.gif .

I too am interested in buying some RCF speakers, I don't know why a lot of people like them, I havnt heard any in action yet but a lot of people seem to like them. However, my question is, I'm not a lover of active speaker systems so do RCF do passive speakers?

Thanks in advance,

Mendoza.

They sure do but not as many as actives at the lower end of the market (by lower i mean not a big rig). One thing to consider is that a set of 315 passive cabs (300w) were about £880 and the 315-a's were around the £1000 mark. after you add a decent power amp £350-£400 its an expensive setup.

Just a thought

there was a complete s/h passive RCF rig for sale in the sales area not long ago and last i heard it was still for sale.
