Ok Guys.
Got a gig tomorrow :-)
Couple are not interested in meetings, no into music and I was only booked late last week.
In my local at end of my road - I've lost 40mins max if the gig is not on - otherwise payment on arrival.

The ONLY words I can get is;
Diana Ross

and

Club Music

Local pub... end of my road. Landlord knows even little.. (just spent 2hrs on "research" tonight lol)

So - my bet is on "Endless Love" with Lionel Richie

However, open to offers, anyone attending the meetup next month cant put their suggestions forward and I'll buy them a beer if its correct!!

With so little time and info - not really looking for sensible answers, but please chuck in what you'd suggest.
Club music can be very diverse... The b & g sound mid 30s on the phone, very laid back....

Not really looking for help - but if faced by the same... what would you play??

Me?
I'll chat to the B & G to try to agree 1st dance.. Will play a few (well known chart) remixes to test reaction. If ok, carry on (and crack on later with mixing), otherwise default to chart, then off to cheese... taking requests...

Cheers guys!

ok my punt is ...."When You Tell Me That You Love Me" ..it is a lovely song and the words are very good for a first dance

as for club music ..i have found it depends how old they are and if they are current clubbers or old clubbers into classic club stuff..i would do chart stuff too and the DJ classics (cheese) .

I am sure you'll read the crowd and get em partying !

knock there socks of Jas!!!

What about - 'One Shining Moment' or 'If we hold on together'.

Rob got in with my suggestion before me, so I'll go for "Why Do Fools Fall In Love". As for club music, given the age and attitude, I reckon Fatboy Slim and Prodigy will work well.

Cheers Guys - I'll post back after the gig..

Got a txt at 1am "Not sure if its too late, but can you play Hungry Eyes" - not sure if its the first dance or not...
Yep - 90's does normally go down well in this pub, one guy (60yrs young) goes mad for Sandstorm :-)

Mitch nice one :-) .. I did suggest "I'm coming out" to Carmen, but may sneak that in later IF they're up for some cheese biggrin.gif

Cheers!

Oops, my bad. It was Robster/star who suggested the song I was thinking of. Should have been clearer. Although Norfolk Rob pulled some good suggestions out of the hat that had me doing some rummaging through my collection to make sure I have both those tracks!!!

At gig..had a good start, but been getting grief.. nothing too bad, but mostly drink related.

Well, back home. Knackered - I got paid on arrival, was a hard gig, not aided by serious car trouble (yes... the car I've sold..).
Got a few "well dones" off people, and the lady who booked me said she had my number for the next wedding..

Update in the morning.. Gotta be up at 7am. sad.gif
