Why? OK the bloke is 6'5" and is called Jon, and he wants sixteen tons not sure which version. he is a rugby player any ideas?

Linking back to other threads and a topic on another forum, im having a clampdown on requests. I am going to state in my t+c's that music requests need to be submitted 14 days prior to the event with only a very limited number of tracks to be submitted after this time in case of a last minute gig

Is that harsh? Reason i ask is that i have just spent £30 on ebay in the last 2 weeks and have over 150 additional tracks over several albums, most of which are greatest hits of artists or very popular albums which i should have. Bargain

2 weeks ago i spent nearly £30 on itunes for 2 gigs and got 30 songs - not a bargain

theres nowt as queer as folk!

My T&C state

A maximum of 30 requests on any playlist

Must be submitted to me 10 days in advance of gig

I cannot guarantee any particular song particularly if it is rare, obscure deleted or an album track.

Jimmy Dean is the best version of big bad john in my honest opinion and he recently passed away and this song was in the news as the example of what he was most famous for , I have heard this sang on karaoke quite often

Ernie Ford is the best version in my version of sixteen tons

personally i don't see that as a waste of money track ..you will probably play that again.

I personally see spending money on music more important than lights or sound as a tune people like even on a rubbish system with naff lights goes down better than a rubbish tune on a amazing sound quality system and awesome light show in my experience.

Cheers for the heads up on the sixteen tons track, saw a few versions and wasnt sure which he would want.

I fully agree that without the right music we are effectively useless. A couple of quid on itunes is no bother for the odd track but like i have said previously i prefer to buy cd's and need time to source them. My nearest record store is a 30 mileround trip and as its town centre with no free parking anywhere its an expensive job as it is. at least with enough time i can use amazon and fleabay etc.
