Hi

Long time since I have been on this forum.
Last wedding I did, I had a chap come up afterwards asking me how he could start being a DJ in clubs.
He was in his mid 40’s said he had not done it before but reckoned he has the skills and was finding it hard to brake in, I took his number and promised to get back with info.
This is not my thing but does anyone know of agencies, places that would take him on?

Cheers

Without some kind of history, he'll find it hard getting agencies to take him seriously.
If he has some gear, then probably creating some live demo mixes on YouTube may help show off his talents.

Find a local DJ who may be willing to take him on as a roadie, to get some real experience.

If he wants to fast-track this, AND has the skills, then he's gonna have to get to know people, and be a bit of a self-promotionalist!

JonWhittaker (member here) has a number of residencies in Bars (not sure if he also works any Clubs), and will have some more informed advice!
