Morning All

Is it just me or does anybody else watch this TV program (I have to my partner says we could pick up some tips for our wedding!!!!! shocking.gif Bless her!) inlove.gif

Anyway watching this program and please believe me I am loath to criticise anybody but DAMN how do some of the DJ's shown providing the entertainment for the evening get the work with what in my opinion are such poorly laid out or presented shows!

Yes we all know that space and venue etc play their parts but really how do they get away with it! I grant you not all of them have been bad, some have left me feeling jealous of the new light they have or whathave you, But one episode I saw recently the guy had simply placed an impossiled on top of a table and a maplins special on the floor and that was it!

No real effort was apparent in the level of service provided.

So my real question is this if a gig came along that you knew would leave you potentially looking foolish, regardless of money would you take it?

Never seen the prog but to answer your question.....No. My rig may be far from the best on the planet but i make a lot of effort to make it look nice and neat. If i was going to on tv i certainly would make the extra effort and possibly invest in a few shiney bits.

I have turned away gigs where i know i cannot provide what they want to a high standard, both in respect of huge rigs and specialist music gigs. However saying that, it is very rare that i get such requests.

yes there maybe an opportunity to further develop what i do and learn new skills, isnt that what being in business is all about, but i have the sense to know when im out of my depth and would not risk my reputation and more importantly the clients happiness to make a quick buck.

Good Post Tommo!

I've watched the show..... biggrin.gif

I'm not sure if my level of wedding service would be "higher" just because a TV crew might be filming during the reception....ok, perhaps I'd wear new socks, my "lucky red pants" and drink Corsodyl by the litre??!!

Regardless whether the wedding entertainment is supplied by the venue or hired directly by the B&G, I expect the actual DJ operating on night would be the last to know about any filming for a TV show.

Having watched a few shows, if the show has anything to say other than the focus on bitching and sneering among the 'contenders', I think it clearly demonstrates that wedding budgets vary as wide as peoples ideas about wedding services and the venues they choose. msn-wink.gif

Hi Guys,

Just to add to the Four Weddings topic. I recieved an email from Living TV around 4 months ago asking me if I knew anybody who would be interested in applying.

No idea where they got my details from but as a few of you have already commented it just seems like a war of brides!! So the email went in the Trash.

I do watch the programme when it's on simply to see the entertainment.

Did anybody see the DJ a few weeks ago that dances all night? Crazy Guy! As soon as he started he was off and didnt stop.

I understand that some people like to be entertained but is that too much?

On my opinion and counts for nothing.

Anyway I'll shut up now.

Dave
