I have a pair of these and had the same problem. Got my mate to check them and he came back that he could find nothing wrong with them. He had them apart, cleaned them and they were fine. I run them off a double lead instead of 2 singles and maybe its just me, but it doesnt do it as much. And for the price i paid i'll settle for that.

I'm assuming the chips you replaced are the output stage ones (i.e. there's no triac beyond that) ?

Checked with a multimeter that the outputs are working? You coudl also check the inputs to the chip to see if theres any voltage there (likely to be 5v or 12v input possibly?).

Could be the controller chip that's up the swanny though - I'm not familiar with what's in these units - but I'd guess there ain't much!

Cheers,

David
