Hi guys,
As you may have gathered from previous posts I have not been a lover of LED lighting. However, Ive been watching some vids on Youtube and some of the LED lights I have seen look really good!
I have been thinking of getting a new Centrepiece for my lighting rig, and would like to get an LED light -with a view to changing the other lights to LED also if it looks good!
My question is, what would you recommend for an LED centrepiece? I am thinking of a Miracled, or a Impossibled, or even a Revo 4. Or, possibly the ADJ Jellyfish, or ADJ Tripleflex.
Any thoughts on which would be good, or maybe something I havent thought of?
I was thinking of maybe long term going for one of the above for a centrepiece, with a Impossibled or Revo 3/4 either side, or maybe Impossibled/Revo 3/4 in the centre with something else either side - decisions decisions!
I guess one think that would be useful to know is if any of the above connect together through DMX to make a proper linked light show?
Any advice appreciated, and I will make sure I buy a few drinks when we all meet up in Brum - the advice I have alredy recieved here has been invaluable!
Cheers, Mark.

Hi Mark
I had an Acme Miracled and it was great, seemed to be the perfect centre light. Really wide spread and nice and bright. It had iec in and out to link other fixtures and control came from a simple ca-8 controller.
I got bored of the red blue and green dots though but saying that i do miss it now its gone and will look for a replacement sometime.

Well, again, dont base opinions on youtube videos. Video cameras exaggerate lighting and usually make them look alot brighter than they are. Go to your local DJ shop and see one there.
I've seen the ADJ centrepieces in a nightclub install and quite frankly, even with nightclub-levels of heavy smoke, they hardly reach the floor.

Thanks Superstardeejay, good advice!
My current centrepiece is a 2 x 250w Acme Dynaroll, which is quite bright, so whatever replaces it would need to be quite bright too. Im not in a rush though so I will continue to look around for anything that looks good!
Once light I have not seen "in the flesh", but I have read good things on here, is the Impossibled/Revo 3 - from what I have read that is a really bright LED light so I guess that would be a good contender!
Cheers,
Mark

The impossibled (and about a million clone/variations) are excellent room fillers. Of course you only fill the room with blue/red/green spots but it certainly does what it says on the tin.
I've got a chauvet vue 3 which is another similar effect. I use it as a centrepiece and I like it a lot.
I would certainly agree with SuperStars advice. If you can, always go to a local supplier and have a demo of the light before you buy. I learned this lesson the hard way, buying a couple of hundred quids worth of LED moonflowers that were useless and completely overpowered by my other lights.

There's a new LED centrepiece by Mirage worth taking a look,
check it out. It's bigger and looks brighter than the American DJ Neucleus.
I bought mind for just £450 shipped

LOL! It's a beast of an LED light and is currently the biggest LED centrepiece on the market. I got a flightcase with the package too and is a very tough, durable flightcase too. The actual size of the unit isn't too big but the beam dispertion is very very wide as you'll see from the video.
I ordered and paid for it through PayPal and within 3 days it was here

Paid £450 that got me the moonspinner, free shipping (DHL insured and trackable) and a flightcase, bargain!
