Full Version: What's the best bit of advice you've read?

So far, this forum has generated over 20,000 postings of advice, humour, news, reviews, links, etc., created new friendships and broken down a few barriers amongst fellows in the same field of work.

That said, what is the best bit of advice on this forum anyone has read or received direct!!!

The reason why I ask is because I think there should be 2 or 3 pages (like an index) devoted to links to the suggested postings of advice, as chosen by the members.

It could become a great source of information for dju members - and then Crispy could Publish it into a DJ guide and sell it for mi££ions!!!!

Just a suggestion folks! whistling.gif

Well the best advice so far was from Kazz on some new kids games she really does know her stuff but i will have to think about some more i know it does not count but i was on a forum before that gary was a mod/admin on and through reading his postings about the denon dns-5000 made me buy them thumbup.gif and i have never looked back since. but i shall go away and think of some more.

Where to start????
This has been a tremendous resource for me and the ability to tap into the members knowledge is fantastic! biggrin.gif
I think the most valuable and practicle advice I've recieved is for mixed age do's,
to play to the kids first then the oldies, by which time the rest of the party should be ready to get up.
There's tons more but sometimes you're just looking for reassurance as without a place like this it could be a bit of a lonely existance - Cheers everyone,

The keyword 'advice' in the forum search engine is quite good.

(In fact, the keyword search is brilliant when looking up postings.)

Anyone use a selection of keywords for regular searches?

The single best piece of advice I have had was to always buy the best quality professional equipment you can get. Stretch your budget and get the real thing rather than 'making do' with a lesser product.

Periodically I forget this advice and I always regret my purchase eventually.

The geting started, PAT, Insurance, lights, Tax, you name it someone has writen about it and been of help. Oh yes those games are great. I printed out a copy and keep it with me when I'm DJing you never know when it may be useful.

Keep up the good work everyone cool.gif

seriously i cant decide as little quotes here and there and how to approach a gig i wasent to sure about and equipment reviews (not nescerrally for me) but was thinking of purchasing and got the low down on it by an actual dj not some store or web review trying to pair it off as the djs ultimate tool etc
