I have just heard two of my regular singers have got through the very first round of x factor auditions( two more rounds before they are on telly)

one of the singers I think is good but has not a great chance of getting to the TV stage ...they may do a makeover on her as her voice doesn't match her image and that would zoom her chances (sounds harsh but is not meant that way) the other has a fair to even chance and should be an artist in his own right anyway but seems to lack belief in how good he really is but given the hit and miss way they choose competitors it will be down to luck not just there talent , both are much better than Leon Jackson in my opinion and he won it , i am well chuffed for them and i have been encouraging them to take part and i helped one with her song choice.

I have heard several times that my singers do tend to be very good compared to other karaoke shows (I often worry that this may be intimidating for new singers and encourage the ones who may not start off so well) and that many people are surprised at the overall level of singers at my nights , i have been to other hosts karaoke nights that all the singers couldn't hold a note , don't get me wrong i still get the odd few and i love them for having a go and having fun but my singers standard is very good , one is a vocal coach several do performing arts courses at college some are ex pro singers , some are budding singer song writers , some are great fun loving amateurs and some are just out for a laugh.


These are the people who make my shows a success and I genuinely feel grateful and blessed to have them turn up and sing for me.

So for those who do karaoke nights do you get surprised comments from the non singers at the quality level of your singers?

I know what you mean. At the moment, I'm not providing karaoke but the quality of the singers for the current contest is extremely high and rewarding, yes.

Every now and again i get a good singer and i thoroughly enjoy listening to them. I can spot a flat note a mile off and if im happy they must be good.
