I don't usually do childrens parties but this is a favour for someone - its for about 20 - 30 children and the birthday boy will be 11 and it for about 2.5 hours in a community centre. I've asked what the favourite music is and been told N-Dubz, but that's it so far, and chances are I won't get much more guidence before the night - so if anyone who has more experience of this age range could advise some other must have tracks I'd be very grateful.
Also, would party games be appropiate for this age? if so, again, any suggestions would be really helpful.

I'm with Dave here - most current chart stuff will work!
I'd throw some cascada in there too. You could always get them to do Cha Cha Slide / Macarena / Flo Rida Low... etc. they should all dance along to them..
Cheers,
AnotherDave

I've a 13th and 11th in Feb. My daughter has supplied a playlist for her 13th (in no order, but listed below)
I'm surprised to see YMCA etc in there - I did ask, and it was played at a few of her friends parties...
Depending on the kids, they may be young (and be up for games), or really into their music ( and just want to dance).
Probably chat to the birthday boy on the day, and be prepared for a few simple games.
The 11th I'm doing has asked for games which will be fine.

Start off with chart
Ask for requests over the mic
Trust me they will tell you what they want!
we do a lot of Discos for kids of that age and as well as good music they like to play games and win prizes which is always bags of sweets, we normally supply these as its a community event however if the parents are willing to supply them it will save you a fiver.
