Guys,

I have had my Denon HD 2500 for about 18 months now and I still love it to bits, it is great for beat mixing, the loop function works like a dream and using it with the Denon X500 mixer is a joy!

However I've had a few problems recently.

Tonight it stopped playing music a couple of times, I thought at first it had been the limiter but everything else was on so it wasn't.

I have also found that sometimes in using a play list, it will start playing the next song and then stop. While this isn't happening all the time, it means I am pooh.gif ing myself everytime I play a first dance. I also use a cortex HD1000 for backup so I normally play the first dance on both machines at the same time so if the denon has a problem, I can quickly flick it over to the Cortex.

Anyone else suffered similar problems with the HD 2500?

I am thinking about what my options are, I doubt it is still under warrenty. I do have also my gear insured with music guard so not sure whether they would count this as equipment failure so I could claim for a new Denon?

What would you do in this situation?

Check it's not a few corupt MP3 files causing your problem, I had a similar problem myself, I deleted the offending files, re ripped them and reinstated them on the drive and the problem went away

I'm not familiar with the Denon system, but I know someone who experienced problems with their hard drive mp3s due to cold weather!
Apparently, if a hard drive is not protected enough during storage / transit from the cold, this can affect performance, i.e. track stuttering or stopping mid play. After a period of time, the same tracks were played again with no ill effect?!

I've experienced something similar with CD players. I like to let them warm up before use! biggrin.gif

Just a thought.

Thanks for your comments..

Disco4hire, how did you check for corrupt files?

I guess I should have made a note of the songs that stopped but I didn't :-0

Is there a program you can run to check?

Thanks

I've never tried it to be honest but a mate told me mp3 Diags is good
