I would imagine it doesnt really matter. Any kind of bass bin will be an improvement for the titans (i've always found them a bit bright and brassy on their own) so its up to you how much you want to spend and how much you want to carry.
A local venue up here had Titan 10's and they were augmented with a couple of wooden 15in MacGregor bass bins that did the job admirably. This was a disco-pub.
If you want to stick to Wharfedale then the 300W SVP15PB's are quite light (they are switch-mode) but reasonably punchy for the money and they have a built in electronic crossover so you can use them to take some of the bass signal off the Titans and give them an easier life. You'd probably need a pair of these.

Sometimes, yeah. Depends on what make and model you're after.
Some active bass bins only have a single input and output which means it would be difficult unless you can cope with running the tops FR.

You're best having a look at some Subs in the flesh to see what's on offer, and have physical look at what connectors are on the back. Some subs will have "top out" or "high-out" or "filtered out" XLR on them.
Some may also come with "Thru" or "Full Range" connectors (these probably aren't what you're looking for though).
Also, its best if you have a listen to the Subwoofers, preferabbly in combination with your existing speakers to make sure that you're happy with the sound quality...
Cheers,
David

the carlsbro gamma series of subs have stereo in / out so two tops can both be linked through a single sub.
that the only one i know of from personal usage.
