Full Version: Value For Money
Dj's United > "TALKING SHOP" > Music

mac
As Im looking to buy a fair amount of cds for our mobile set up and having just bought the woman and kid a pile of cds for xmas it got me thinking about value for money, grants dont go far.
Ive realised most artist cds that we buy are nowhere near the 80minutes that a cd can hold.
70 mins plus is very good
Queen greatest hits 79.37
Seal Hits 79.11
Pussycat Dolls 76.37
Black Eyed Peas 70.18

50-69 mins its alright(ish)
Pink, Lady Gaga, Neyo

40-49 mins not impressed
Aexandra Burke, Pixie lott

Then the feel I got mugged buying this
Shakira, Shewolf 34 minutes

This is just a few for the family dread to think how long Im going to spend finding the best value definetly looking at compilations to get us started.

Also the above cds not mine my taste is even worse haha

it seems a rip off when you pick up a cd with 10 tracks for 12.99 where you get 40 tracks on the now cd's for the same price

get to the charity shops and on ebay to build up your 'now' collection. dont forget the car boot sales too, you can grab a handfull of cd's for a couple of quid.

how is the gear search going btw. anywhwere near making a decision.
Where is the centre?
mac
Our centre is in Trowbridge, Wilts its a Town Council run building(hall 4 hire) it has a large hall, lounge, kitchen, toilets and storage facility 160-180 capacity, no license thats why its mostly family and childrens parties/discos

was considering the
numark 2/3
KAM KCDMP5000 MP3 / CD then the
Citronic CDMX 1 Mk2 Anti Shock Dual CD / MP3 / USB / SD Mixstation for multiple use

as we have been given a set amount for a quote from a supplier for a specific kit and extras trying to change specs or equipment is very hard, then once I have come to the decision i must check with our committee that they are happy with the changes and then inform the grant board of the changes.it is mad i know

starting to trawl charity shops already for cds and asking members for donations of unwanted originals saves us a few quid
