Hi all

Every year I always do a 'Black Tie' 4 course dinner dance at a local hotel from 8-1.

I always like to keep the atmosphere party like even during the meal.

Just after a few more ideas of what to play during their meal as I never quite know if it's over the top or too slow.

Hi Norfolk,

I was asking about background music myself a while ago and although this probably doesnt answer your question I just wanted to share how I've solved it. (and I apologise if I'm stating the obvious to the more xperienced here)

To me, the best background music is all the popular music either in the charts today or the classics. With just one difference. They're the tunes that people can't dance to.

I like to play tunes which people would like to dance to but it might not be a floor filler and you might not want to play it during the main part of the evening I mean foot tappers like :

Who do you think you are - Spice Girls
Baker Street - Undercover
Karma Chameleon - Culture Club
Dancing on the ceiling - Lionel Ritchie
A night to remember - Shalamar
MMbop - Hanson

Wide variety I know but I hope you get the picture!
