Hi All

I'm just being nosey really, but wondered what transport everybody uses for bookings. Obviously for some it will depend on the size of the venue, but I would suggest base it on the majority of your bookings.

I use an estate car, mainly because I like my comfort when travelling, but also because it is the family vehicle.
Hugmaster
Hi

We use a 1.3 Escort with a 6ft x 4ft x 4ft box trailer.

we use a Honda CRV i think with a 2.0 petrol engine and a box trailor with the dims of 1.8x1.2x1.8 but thats an estimate

Sometimes I think its going to conk out up hills fear.gif

Poor little car sadwalk.gif .

I'll probably end up buying a transit van when I'm old enough to drive, or a Land Rover or sumthing that will tow the trailer easier. sad.gif

One time when we had to reverse up a sloping driveway we could smell the clutch burning 188.gif fear.gif
paula
stupid.gif scared.gif Back in the old days, I used to get all mine in a Nissan Sunny, no trailer!

It's not the trailer causing the problem , its women drivers ! laugh.gif laugh.gif fear.gif

Ditto, anybody that uses a car knows there is few ways to pack it!

I use a golf mk4, luckily my residency is only a mile from my house so long distances are not really encountered....

If i did more driving i'd prob go for an estate car,, storing a trailer isnt really practical for me

YourBigEvent

Some topics just seem to hide away for a while and then come back as if they'd never been away (this one has been hibernating since Jan 2004 and even has a post from the SpinDoctor kid.gif )

Anyway back on topic I use an estate car (Vectra diesel) plus had I replied to this way back in 2004 I would have included a trailer as well but as I didn't I won't because I don't any more wacko.gif

My Trusty rusty Transit! tongue.gif

Even though. I have got a pair of 15" tops, pair of 18" bins, 2 amps, 10 channel mixer, large B&Q crate of cables, 8 Lights, 2 T-bar stands, 2 sets of twin CD players and 3 cases of CD's, all into one of those new Vauxhall Astras! biggrin.gif

Renault Trafic 1.9 Turbo Diesel and ther gear just fits in scared.gif

First time round 20+ years ago I used to get whoever could run me, if I was lucky it was an escort van, but more often than not an old escort estate. God knows how it used to fit.
In them days my decks were home built and about 5ft long, the speakers were 2x12s with horns, the records were REAL and they were in cases the size of a large suitcase that held about 700 in each case weighing about 100lbs each and there were 3 of them omg.gif then there were loads of lights too.

Still got the Boxer van. 014.gif

Its not really big enough on occasions.
ian .
9 ft long trailer, and whatever is around with a tow bar to pull it.
Lookin' for a medium size van at the mo' to replace it.

Honda Jazz...And still room for a passenger!
Supradave
Toyota Previa MPV, been using it for over 7 years years transporting the gear about.

Marvelously reliable but the interior is now ripped to shreds

No room for any passengers just me and the kit.

I really must look into getting a smaller rig.

I used to have a Xantia estate, but it died a slow death in the new year, so I've now got an Astra estate.

I wish I had my Xantia back. 014.gif The adjustable suspension was great for loading and unloading, and the cargo space was bigger and flatter than the Astra.

My Rover Montego Estate for the amp rack and speakers, and a pillock's Maestro hatchback for the lighting, coffin etc.

Not a good situation really, and one that has become unworkable. mad.gif

Ford Mondeo for the smaller gigs packed to the glove box. Trailer, 6'x4'x4' for the overnight, pick up in the morning (NOT CD'S , MICS ETC.) trusted alarmed venue!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jase Windu
I got it good by the sounds of things, built in residence set up so just take mixer and lappy in back of a taxi that way I can have a few jars 2. If I'm anywhere else then my boss gets me there and back
bigMCben
I use a Ford Mondeo Hatchback. I have my own designed frame/stand which folds flat and has space between the spars to allow the speakers to sit in between them. The coffin for my lights fits between the rear doors just behind the front seats and then the amp, speaker stands, laptop flight case fit in at the back. I can also fit in a bar sized stool/seat and a 16" fan for those venues too stingy to install air-conditioning. 188.gif

Fiat Scudo Van

going to get a Vauxhall Movano after Xmas
robbiedj
Ticked "other" as I use a Kia Sedona MPV (7 seater).

Depending on set-up required I just take out more seats. With average show can still have 4 seats if I pack neatly. biggrin.gif

Anyone familiar with the Toyota Hi ace? My poor transit is struggling 014.gif
