Full Version: Why are my heroes all old?

Prompted by the one hit wonders thread and`my jealousy of Ian and Esks never ending lists of soul heroes, i started to think....

My musical heroes and people i respect within music are all old,..Bowie,u2,depeche mode,pink floyd,clapton,madonna,sting, all oldies and the list is never ending and they still produce the goods,New heroes like Liam Howlett and Rollo\faithless,leftfield,underworld are around but really cant compare.So i was wondering are all your heroes old?( The soul bros ,Ian and Esk please keep it under 25 names!)

I worked in a jazz club years ago and he performed in the club for a couple of weeks. He's a really nice bloke.

I wouldn't say I have any heroes but amongst artists that I really like are:
Maze, Sam Cooke, Sarah Vaughan, Incognito, Madness, Dennis Brown, O'Jays, Earth Wind & Fire, Ronny Jordan, D'Influence, Kinks, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Freddie McGregor, Blur & Prince to name but a few.

I got bang into U2 While I was at school, but not for there music at first more for there political affairs and how they wrote about them, can be quite intresting if you know what there singing about.

Ozzy Osbourne takes some beating. Or should I say he should take a beating!!! he's good for a laugh though, you've got to admire him. (And sir Cliff of course!!!!!)
