i have a pair of efx500s and a pair of scx600s which are used with a 2510 controller and i just wanted to say what a difference it makes when using the controller with the preprogrammed sequences from Martin. It saves me a lot time faffing about making my own. Does anyone else have a similar setup and think the same?
I also have a wizard but the pre program for that is not great at all - is there others out there that i dont know of that may not necessarily be made by martin but that can be used with a 2510 controller?

The 2510 controller will work any DMX light from any manufacturer; but it needs to be programmed with a compatible PC based lighting designer eg Lightjockey and RS232 interface; and then only with 2510s that have the latest firmware.
Martin's currently downloadable files only work with Martin fixtures, I doubt they'd provide routines for other manufacturer's lights.

thats ok as all i have are martin lights. If i dont use the controller i use dmx freestyler which the latest version seems to be compatible with the 2510 which would be awesome as i can use it just like lightjockey but i need to test this out yet

Yes the latest version is compatible, however you cant program fades, so things like slow chases wont transfer properly. If you have scanners, they must ideally be vector programmable otherwise movements will be jerky. You'll also need the Martin 2510 uploader software, Freestyler can only 'create' the files, It cant talk directly to the 2510.
