Hi Guys,
I'm playing my local pub this Friday, and have found out that its my landlords birthday.
He's a proud scottish guy, and is up for a laugh.. He's in his 50's, so older is better -but he obviously enjoys most types of music.

So... I'm on the hunt for some Scottish bands/music.

So far, I have the following;

-Bay City Rollers
-Rod Stewart
-Proclaimers
-Andy Stewart
-Travis
-Simple Minds
-Texas
-Wet Wet Wet
-Average White Band
-Big Country
-Deacon Blue
-Del Amitri
-Primal Scream

Probably looking for any other popular bands and/or tracks - I won't play them all, but will probably run a medley to cram quite a few in to the last 30mins.

Any tips welcome!
Thanks,
Jason

There's a massive list of Scottish Groups on Wiki.

I like the entry between "The Shamen" and "Shoogleniftly" biggrin.gif

Thanks Dan, Jim and Mitch - very helpful.

I played some - but was caught by surprise with a fairly busy night, and I was planning on playing these tunes from Midnight until my end (12:30). However, there were a few Ska funs in, and I played a selection of Ska and some Reagge, leaving no time for anything other than Queen (Landlord loves queen).

I DID play;
Deacon Blue
Travis
Anne Lenniox
Del Amitri
Big Country

No proclaimers - I brought the lyrics to 500 miles, he normally sings it at Karaoke, and was planning on using the vocal removal feature on the mixer for an ad-hoc Karaoke session... However, he was busy serving, and I wasn't sure if he would be up for it.

The tracks will come in very handy though. I've a few more bookings this year, and should be booked next year too.

Thanks again!
Jason
