I have noticed that my smoke machine does not seem to be as powerful as a few weeks back. It does not seem to be puffing out as strongly.
Does anybody have any ideas why this might be? At current I use a
clear blue sound lab one.

Anyone got any suggestions of a usefull replacement if I need one.
Thinking about getting a timing device too are these worth getting.

Thanks GTPS

Does it need a clean ?

How old is it ?

You get what you pay for !!

Used to be that running it outside with neat white vinegar in the bottle cleared it out, but I'm sure Chris will be along shortly to advise.

Any smoke machine of any price should be checked and cleaned out every 6 months for regular use or every 12 months at least!.

Instructions for cleaning the heat exchanger can be found ON THIS THREAD

If that doesn't solve it then come back for prices, but a good clean should get it running again.

Stand a desk fan behind it... it works wonders!

And then take the fan to your gig, point the smoke machine TOWARDS the fan and turn on and see what happens, great effect.

Aha! I see in that other thread you never did answer my question about Snow machines Chris.

I have a Sound Lab Smoke machine, and I must admit I'm not agreat lover of them, they leave a mess, the fluid is messy and smoke leave a horrible residue in fan cooled lights.

However ther're great a kids parties and do make the best of lighting effects.

Mine has developed a fault where the ready neon light on the control switch won't come on, therefore no smoke, yet the unit is fully warmed up.

I traced the fault to a thermostatic switch on the smoke chamber that is supposed to go open circuit when it reaches about 105oC. It doesn't, unless it is tapped. There is a separate over-temp trip that has been protecting the unit from going into melt down!

The good news is the thermostatic switch is about £1 and simple to replace
