This is a great soundtrack with authentic sounding remakes of all the Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons hit songs including "Big girls dont cry", "Sherry", "Walk like a man", "Who loves you"
I used the first 2 tracks listed above at a 60th birthday the other night & they both went off. They sound way better than the originals due to the excellent sound production.
Currently the Jersey Boys stage show is doing a world tour & is already a very popular show.

I always prefer the original, especially if the "copy" hasn't been released and managed to hit the top 40.
Can you imagine playing Pearse Brosnan instead of Abba.

Yeah i agree, 9 times out of 10 , it's better to play the original. But in this case the remakes are better sounding than the originals & go over much better. Point of difference with the example you bring up from the Mamma mia soundtrack is that the version you refer to pales in contrast with the original. That said though there are a couple of tracks off the Mamma Mia soundtrack that are very popular with kids & adults alike & are better produced like "Money , money" & "Honey honey"..

The 60's originals of the Four Seasons tracks never worked overly well for me possibly because of the weaker sound production , but these remakes do work.

only two of the tracks work for me ,Sherry and Walk like a man but the sherry one has talking at the beginning.

The others do sound too" cover bandish "for my taste but each to there own.

.i actually like certain lo fi sounds if you clean up lots of old songs they just dont sound right , i have heard plenty of motown covers that sound rubbish because they are cleaner and better hi fi quality wise ,but they some how lose the soul from the recording in the process.
