hi

I'm doing a wedding 3rd July and have been asked to do a conga track near the end. Apart from 'everyone do the conga' or hot hot hot, any good tracks ?

The couple are pretty musically literate (apart from the conga:) so I was out to impress on the night.

For the ultimate conga I'd suggest chopping up all of the above into one prerecorded megamix - possibly returning to the Black Lace hook between each different track. If possible get out there with a radio mic and take them out of the room and back. Then I'd be tempted to hit them with Oops Upside Your Head or the Macarena or Cha Cha Slide. Good luck!

I love it Paul!! Might I be so bold as to suggest you get them to Rock The Boat as well? So many people are hung up on not looking silly that it is great when people really interact with this tunes.

Good one Mitch, Rock The Boat would keep it going nicely.
Back in the day, we used to carry water pistols or house plant sprayers to dampen down the participants on any song to do with boats!
I guess the thing is to have a safe "out" record at anytime to calm things down and get back to normal, especially as this is a wedding! Maybe this should be where Wahee blows them away with Disco Inferno!

What about 'Follow the Leader' - Nigel and Marvin ... i can normally get the kids up to that.

Knocking up a remix is a good idea. Just knocked one up in mixmeister in about 15-20 minutes that sounds ok. I would brave it with the right crowd

Do The Conga -> Best Years of Our Lives -> Hot Hot Hot -> Follow The Leader-> Do The Conga ...

comes in at about 7 minutes. Could you keep a conga going for that long ???

Also you could try the same old same old
- Go backwards
- Arm thru leg get person behind to hold hand like elephants walking,
- Go backwards hopping etc.
which will make the 7 minutes go quicker for the audience.

Get them round in a circle at the end play the Hokey Cokey. Works at treat for me and drives mad.
