Hi all,

Things are definately taking a more R&B flavoured feel with me crowds. In fact I'm playing less and less of the big party tunes. Beyonce is definately the tune I get the most requests for (especially from the ladies). And the dancehall vibe is definatly a factor. I'm constantly suprised at how many people get down to Sean Paul.

I got hold of fatman on a CD pool street beats a while back, but there's not too much else on there I'd use. Bit too raw hip-hop.

So my question is anyone got any tracks to watch out for, ones that dance floors are reacting well to, big party tunes.

Also as a welcome suggestions for a record shop in London, where I can get some stuff a bit more upfront?

Cheers,
Martin

Biggest here in Scandinavia at the mo , Kelis- Milkshake.
martink
Cheers C.S, I've got this but it didn't strike me as that danceable. I'll give it a whirl tonight and see how it goes.

Probably my last post today, so have a good 'un everyone, Happy new year!
C.S
Its an odd track but it really works here,i didnt think it was very danceable either. Track 2 on the cd is a much more danceable track.

I've got a remix of 'it takes two' and 'Dirty', goes down a storm.

Not that impressed with the new Fatman one, too much of a straight copy of a classic.

stevemarshall
a couple of promo companies do R and B promo stuff,

they are in London

numbers will be in the phonebook

Universal Urban(part of Island records..Chris Rock is the head guy)

Pro-Urban part of Poparazzi promo company(contact Tracey Webb)

http://www.power.co.uk/prourban/about.shtml

The Playcentre
http://www.theplaycentre.com

you have to be working a minimum of three nites a week, and return weekly charts to them and music magazines to stay on the list

They normally review their lists every 3 months or so...

as far as buying upfront music..there are plenty of places esp in large cities who will sell you promo copies of hot tunes..these tend to be expensive!

Try Dub Vendor in London, who do mail order of Dancehall and Reggae and some hip hop R and B etc and tend to be a bit cheaper!

DMC do a Urban monthly disc which is quite good.....
