Got a couple of presentation nights coming up. Nothing too heavy, one is for my 16 year old's rugby team and the other is for a mate's adult football team.

I can afford to have a laugh, let my hair down and try something a bit different. Can you guys come up with any suggestions for something fun to do on the night? Musically or otherwise?

What about songs to play when introducing the award winners? I have a big list already but I don't want to miss something tried and tested...and funny!

Muchas Gracias (I'm trying to educate you guys)

As a veteran of many a presentation night, here are a few suggestions for football related songs to play.

Match of the Day Theme
Chumbawumba - Tubthumping
U2 - Beautiful Day
Dario G - Ring of Fire (Stadium Edit)
Dario G - Carnaval de Paris
Bellini - Samba Rio de Janeiro
DJ Otzi - Hey Baby
White stripes - Seven Nation Army
KC & The Sunshine Band - Give It Up
Alex Gaudino - Watch Out (Could play Pigbag as well but AG version is more up-beat)
Queen - We Are The Champions (depending upon success, of course)
New Order - World in Motion
Three Lions?
A Tribe called Quest - Can I kick it?
UB40 - Swing Low Sweet Chariot (For the egg-chasers) 363.gif

Planet Funk - Chase the Sun (ok it's the darts theme but it always goes down well)

And a couple of old favourites, especially around our area....

Jeff Beck - Hi-Ho Silver Lining
Harry J Allstars - The Liquidator

Our under 13s have two joint managers - neither of whom have a hair on their head. Of course when I call them up to make the presentations I ALWAYS have Right Said Fred cued up ready.

Hope these help Ben. thumbup.gif

Why not be different?
How about wearing a smile and throwing in the odd nice 'girly' or cheesy cued up tune played for award winners, such as "It's Raining Men", "So Macho", "I Will Survive", "Respect", "Finally", "Go West", "Everything I Do, I Do For You", "Filthy Gorgeous", "Born To Be Alive", "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves", "Tiger Feet", "I Could be So Good For You", Tina Charles, Charles & Eddie, Etta James, Shirley Bassey, Joe Loss, Mrs Mills, Chas & Dave, High School Musical, themes from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, Superman...well, you get the drift! biggrin.gif

You're a big guy....you'll live..... and probably raise a smile along the way - sure, it's not the BAFTA's, but lighthearted music can be so motivational and uplifting for the mood for the true stars of the night - the award winners! thumbsup.gif

Both of those are absolutely perfect - thanks guys.

I'll know most people at my sons awards so I can defo go with all the mickey taking tunes. If they do down well, which I am sure they will, then I'll probably end up carrying them through to the footy do where I won't know too many people, but at least they'll be adults...don't know if that helps or hinders!

Some ideas I had include:
Sensible Tracks
Some big classical tunes - 1812 Overture, Ride of the Valkyries, Sabre Dance, Pomp & Circumstance, Bolero, etc.
Some big war tunes - Colonel Bogey, 633 Squadron, Dam Busters, Great Escape, etc.
Black Crowes - Hard to Handle
Anything from James Bond
Troggs - Wild Thing

Comical Tracks
Show Tunes - I'm Just a Sweet Transvestite, Mamma Mia, Hannah Montana
Anything from the Bee Gee's!
The Sweet - Little Willy (very risky!!)
Elastica - Vaseline (even more risky!!!)
Kids Songs - Lazytown, Bob the Builder, etc.
Robert Palmer - Addicted to Love (for the 16 year old rugby player who ALWAYS has a girl on his arm...usually a different one each match!!)
Steps - 5,6,7,8
Chic - Le Freak
Aerosmith - Dude Looks Like a Lady
Anything by Black Lace!

Sensible Tracks with good intro's (to walk on to)
Green Day - Holiday
Extreme - Get the Funk Out
Foo Fighters - All My Life (loop the guitar bit a minute before the end...where they all go nuts!)
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Simply Red - Moneys too Tight to Mention
Lenny Kravitz - Are you Gonna Go My Way
Manic Street Preachers - Australia
Strokes - Last Nite
Guns n Roses - Welcome to the Jungle, You Could be Mine, Paradise City
Iron Maiden - Run to the Hills
Queen - Another One Bites the Dust (from Gladiators)
The Feeling - Fill my Little World
and, saving the best until last...The Offspring - Original Prankster and Iggy Pop - Lust for Life

I plan to edit down and loop some tunes, maybe using Audacity. It would be amazing if I could hook up a 'jingle' type machine and assign the different tracks to each button. Is that where something like the Kaoss Pad would come in?

Thanks so far guys...keep 'em coming!
