Its my next purchase - a set of 4 led par 64 cans
I have seen the following and to be honest cant see much difference in performance
Acme visio - more expensive
american dj - digital display menu system for addressing etc
Ledj - dip switch control

If you have a set of any of the above or have used them i would appreciate your opinions. If you have something simular from another manufacturer please give them a mention.

Cheers

one thing i noticed about the Visio ones, is that you can plug a CA8 controller into them! Easy!

I've just got, less than 24 hours old, a pair of the LEDJ ones. They have 183 10mm Ultra Bright LED's, dip switches, built-in power cable, 3-pin DMX in and out and a microphone complete with sensitivity control for use when running sound to light. They have a 20mm Glass 0.5A fast blow fuse, weigh 2 kilo's and utilise four DMX512 channels - Channel 1 is Red, 2 is Green, 3 is blue and 4 is shutter/strobe/dimmer.

They look and feel well made; solid in build and appearance, the two brackets for the floor standing model are sturdy and they fold away nicely for hanging on a T-bar, etc. Naturally, they run silently and cool. Instructions are in English and they are quite clear.

I've tested them in sound to light, stand alone and DMX mode effortlessly switching between the different options. I've used my Freekie controller and the CA-8 controller, too. No problems whatsoever.

Their output is excellent. Strong beams that I've been projecting on to walls 30-40 feet away clearly.

I can't compare with any other par can though. Sorry.

In conclusion, very happy with my purchase. I intend to buy some more now and I'll probably grab a more portable controller than the Freekie to use with them!

could you pm me how much you paid and from where..i am interested in getting some
MintyDave
Well i got some as i was in the right place at the right time and bagged myself a bargain. 4 - Ledj par 64. £272.

being brave, or mad that i am, used them on a gig tonight straight out of the boxes Only used 2 units with no controller

I have to say im impressed. Lightwieght (2 kg) very bright and easy to use once you have seen and worked round the small error in the manual that is.

in sound to light mode they are a bit aggressive but i was in a very small venue with white walls and ceilings. having a sensitivity control helped.

Best thing is stick them on white at the end of the nght and people think its hometime, also gives pleanty of light to pack up by, then straigt into the boxes with no cooling time.

Happy customer

You can't say that and not tell us what the error is! I'm desperate to know!!
MintyDave
oooh the suspense?

Ok......im a look and the pictures and ignore the text reader. the manual shows the dip switch positions for master slave (sorry...comrade comrade to be more PC) with a nice little diagram. But it didint work. However when i eventually read the text above the picture it clearly states what switch positions you actually need. whistling.gif

I was under a bit of pressure to get up and running as the client forgot to tell me about a change of start time, and was using the lights out of sealed boxes. Thats my defence.

After runnng an hour over i switched to white to hint that it was hometime as both the organiser, bar staff and wives/partners were fed up and wanted to go home.
