hello everyone!

long time since i been on here!

we now have our disco well and truly sorted!

But being called 'JJ Sounds Mobile Disco and Karaoke' its just occurred to us... we have only 100 karaoke tracks!!!!

browsing a few websites, i havent got a clue what sort of packages to buy. We try and attend a few karaoke nights, but trying to get hold of the number of tracks they have is hard!

Can you advise any websites, or sets of discs?

or is anyone getting rid of a bulk set that i could nab cheapish??

cheers gods!! biggrin.gif

Try searching on this web thingy!!!!! :)

I use the 'extreme' party packs which seem to have nearly all the popular tracks, sunfly is another good make of discs, there was a 100 hits pack on the high street aswell not so long ago.

With karaoke you may have to do a few smaller gigs first just to get used to what tracks pep's want. Cause unlike discos - when they may settle for a similar track/song - if they normally sing a certain song thats all they want.

Popular tracks with me seem to be the usual : Angles - Robbie, Summer nigts - grease, Madonna like a virgin, any elvis songs, whole again atomic kitten, Im so excited pointer sisters, day dream beliver monkeys, sweet caroline etc.

Will u be singing any to start the night off then? bigstar.gif

Watch ebay for KJ's throwing in the towel!!!!! i picked up almost a full house of Sunfly SF series, Gold and most wanted for just over £400... and i always put the latest editions on my birthday and christmas lists to save me buying them!!!!! xmas.gif

Cookies have been pretty good at ordering CD+Gs. Worth looking up.
Pro-Burn will allow you to burn the PDL add specific tracks to CD+G.

I got an e-mail from Mastermix a week or so again advertising a big karaoke box set sale. Might be worth a look.

Wouldn't it be easier to use the intrawebs and copy/paste the track lists then add your own index codes?
This took me about 5 seconds ;-)

sorry if im off topic here, a few things just occured to me

How do you feel advertising as Disco and Karaoke? Do you feel that people who dont want Karaoke are put off? I have 2 diff websites, one for Disco and one for Disco and Karaoke

Also Sunfly have been the most consistant with quality and song selection. Zoom sound good, but have a habit of re-hashing songs to make them shorter etc. Anyone else have problems with Zoom discs making odd noises over systems? Ive experienced occasional problems when using many different players, its not everytime, but it does happen!

we hav'nt found that as yet no. We make sure that when people do enquire, that karaoke is a option we offer and comes as no extra charge to the package if they wish to have it. We take the gear to all gigs, incase of the request! had two gigs like that where we didnt take it, and was requested! nothing since tho...!!

what about the ones who didnt make an enquiry because they didnt want Karaoke?

i dont know... they never contacted me ;) lol

might be worth looking into that actually...!

but of all the booking we have at the moment (14 since February) only two booked karaoke also... so i dont think its that much of a problem!

Yeah, im working on that, but whacking the code next too it took too long.
ive put all the codes in, and im just typing in the track and artist next to it. its a good way to learn touch typing i must say!! lol

makes me wish my second monitor for my comp didnt pack up! would have made it a lot easier!
