This Sunday- the 26th April 2009 is an important date for DJ’s from all aspects of the entertainment industry-

The National Association of Disc Jockeys is again holding their Trade Show & AGM at the National Motorcycle Museum next to the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre. This key event in the DJ’s calendar is open to the public in addition to NADJ members from 12 Noon until 6.00pm.

Each year the NADJ show attracts a wide range of exhibitors; with great new product ranges, and interesting associated services. A few equipment retailers will be there with special show prices and some fantastic deals on all the latest bits of sound and lighting gear. Companies and organisations attending this year include-

The NADJ will be hosting a range of topical and educational seminars covering various aspects of DJ’ing and the entertainment industry.

1.00pm : Brian Canning- SMS Text to Screen- what can it do for me?

T2S Mobile is a text (SMS) messages to Screen software package for mobile DJ’s, Karaoke presenters, nightclubs, bars, and entertainment venues. Brian will introduce the features and benefits of this new technology and what it could do to enhance your presentations and shows.

2.00pm : Barney Grossman- Young DJ -Big Business!

One of our youngest full time DJ’s- at the age of 20 Barney, half way through a marketing degree, explains his journey from the struggles of becoming established to earning the extra money during the week as well as increasing your profitability through a few simple steps.

3.00pm : Mark Walsh - Networking for DJ’s.

Co-founder and producer of the BPM Show, ex radio presenter and currently specialist personality DJ and MC, Mark will entertain and inform.

4.00pm : Derek Pengelly - Relationship Marketing for DJ’s.

Past Chairman & current Development Officer for the NADJ and owner of David Summers Discos and Elegant Lighting services, Derek will demonstrate and share with attendees a proven successful method of generating repeat business and referrals from past clients and third parties.

The Annual General Meeting is held at 5.30pm, and will include a review of the preceding year, the election of the Executive Officers for the forthcoming year and an introduction to the proposals, the aims and objectives for the future.


The Grand Prize Draw will be held after the AGM in the seminar theatre, with lots of fabulous high value prizes, last year one lucky winner went away with a complete disco system, which even included the music! You have to be present at the draw however to win.

The day has previously proved to be a great opportunity to meet & network with DJ colleagues, to meet the NADJ committee and to put your ideas about the future of the association forward.

Entry to the show is free to all NADJ members (to speed up admission, please bring along your membership card). SEDA members will also be permitted free entry (on production of a membership card). Visitors will be required to pay £5 on the door (pre-registration is not required). Any visitor choosing to join NADJ on the day will receive a refund of their £5.00 admission plus the joining fee will be discounted to £50.00 from the usual £60.00- There will be an important announcement on the NADJ PLI policy on the day, making the NADJ membership package an even better proposition.
