Is the Mastermix pro disc preety much all i need for the latest chart stuff? or do i need the now 56 etc albums aswell?
(im thinking of getting pro disc 41 upwards)

Also do you think the mastermix issues are worth buying? £25 each.
(im thinking of getting issue 207 upwards)

thanks.

whats your opinions?

also chris, do you stock mastermix cd's?
C.S
Living abroad i dont know the mastermix cd series but it sounds like it might be mostly club stuff so if you are just doing club work then fine, but if you are doing mobile work then i guess the "now" series have a little more varied selection of music.I am sure Chris and the uk based gang will be along tomorrow with their opinions.

I use CD Pool (radio xtra) and Pro Disc, some duplicates, but that not a problem, then top up with the Now series and the Hits series and the odd compilations that take my fancy.

so far, i have just been using compilations, but as the mixmaster cds are only available to the working DJ and need proof of ID before purchasing, i cant get these yet untill i have the cards made up, but will tackle this problem soon.

take care for now smile.gif

Prodisk, the now series, the hits series and top of the pops series, are pretty much the only ones you'll need for chart stuff.

The Prodisk stuff is excellent for stuff that is on the radio but not actually released yet, my copies are extremely well used.

You may have to buy the odd CD single to fill the gaps, but a judgement call will be needed to see if the missing songs will be needed.

Pro Disc is great as you say... well worth keeping up with.

Mastermix.... very hit and miss (more miss at the moment I'm afraid sadwalk.gif ) I've just ended my subscription to the series thumbdown.gif

An often good alternative is the DMC Commercial Collection series. Good collections (sometimes) of remixes, megamixes and mash up's (Benni Benassi vs The Proclaimers, anyone?? wacko.gif) smile.gif

Ive been a cd pool member for a few yrs now which i would recommend and has got much better for radio edits since i changed from pop beats to radio xtra (i think is the title) Also used to buy a lot of chart singles but now stick more with the compliations such as Now.

Sorry not really in touch with the pro disc or the issue series but cd pool seems to be good value for money. Obviously you rarely get the 'big' hits but buying the odd single here and there isnt too much hardwork...

Prodisc is about the best, we buy the odd single but not often, and the NOW and oyther compilations seem to be the best way of keeping up to date as they are often out very quickly and topical. We buy the odd album if theres the potential for a few singles off it, but in the main prodisc doesnt miss out on much except the odd surprise which is where the singles come in.

I agree, Prodisc is the best. Saves alot of money when comparing it to buying 20 singles!!

The mastermix issue always packs the floor, and is also highly recommended.

I have just received the Mastermix Prodisc 43. I cant say I'm too impressed.Considering its the first release since 26 Nov there are a lot of tracks that have been released since that date that I have needed.I personally think there should have been a release in early Jan.I will give it another month to improve and then I might go back to buying singles.
There doesnt seem to be enough 'cheesy pop' on the Prodisc.
If they had LibertyX on issue 43 You can bet it would have been the slow version instead of the Bimbo Jones mix which I prefer.
