It has to deal with my CE - 4000 Crown.

When I turn it on, It run's really loud, I'm guessing it's the fan.
I have a CE 2000, And it never has been loud, Or even half as loud as the 4000.
Also, When I go to turn it off, It take's awhile for it to shut down, And both CH fault light's keep flashing till it turn's off... And again the CE 2000 never done that... Now, Is this right? Or is there something wrong with it? Also it take's a good 5 - 10 sec to turn all the way off... Once again - Unlike my CE 2000.

It power's both of my speaker's just fine. So, What you all think? sad.gif

Thank's for your help!

Sounds like the thermistor (Temp Sensor) which controls the Fan Speed has failed

Ok... Eh.. I'll have to send it back, Or is it nothing big to worry about?

Thank's for your help.

The amp fan dose seem to run all the time.. LOL Eh.. So I should send it back, May not cool off the amp... And burn it up Eh?

Most amps have a temp sensor fitted to the internal metal chassis which senses the temperature of the transistors, the hotter the Amplifier gets the faster the fan runs smile.gif . This way, you don't get high ambient fan noise at low volumes and more cool air gets forced into the amplifier at high power levels when it is needed.

It sounds like the sensor has failed short circuit, meaning (luckily) that the fan runs at full speed all of the time regardless of temperature, it could be worse, it could have failed in a way that the fan wouldn't run at all! scared.gif .

There is no immediate rush, but I would get it repaired as soon as is realistically possible.

Without a proper diagnosis it would be impossible to be 100% certain that this is the problem, although it is the most likely fault and one that I have come across before. But get an engineer to look at it as soon as possible.

Ok, Thank's alot Chris... I just got the amp, From a reseller of Crown the other week... I'll contact him, And have him replace it, With a new one. As my 10 day's are not up yet... It would be a fault in the amp before I got it, And with that kind of money in it, I think it's best to get a replacement.
