Hi

I consider myself a bit of an 80's throwback but would be really interested to see what other people consider "must play" tunes for an 80's set or theme night etc.

All suggestions gratefully received (no shoulder pads or big hair though ta.....

)

I think the 80s were great too.

Listening to R2 (Dale) today, hits from 1980... what a year for music but even more interesting, what a month!

The ones in bold I have never played at a gig, but the other 26 I have!

What a fantastic top 40. It's no wonder we had a great time in the 80's! I would imagine most of us know 75% of the songs on that list...I doubt I'd know more than 50% of what's in yesterdays chart!

"People thrashing out three chords didn't really interest us musically. Reggae was accepted in punk circles and musically more sophisticated, and we could play it, so we veered off in that direction. I mean let's be honest here, 'So Lonely' was unabashedly culled from 'No Woman No Cry' by Bob Marley. Same chorus. What we invented was this thing of going back and forth between thrash punk and reggae. That was the little niche we created for ourselves."
